Windows Thin PC is a 'locked down version of Windows 7 designed to help repurpose existing PCs as thin clients', helping customers save money on hardware, and replaces Microsoft's previous thin client OS, Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs. The footprint is so small compared to Windows 7. Thin PC weighs in at a svelte 2.8 GB, whereas a default Windows 7 install tips the scales at 6.8 GB! That's right - There is 4GB of extra stuff in Windows 7 that has little to do with the fundamental OS. That's not a bad thing, since the overall experience and purpose.
Windows Embedded operating systems are available for OEM integrators only systems, available to end users preloaded with hardware. Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 7 packages of Windows 7 operating system in a highly customizable way and components. But is faster than Windows 7 standard?
It is basically a cropped version of Windows 7, although not replaces, enables companies to optimize light systems as possible the investment they have made in hardware.
Grants modern virtualization features such as RemoteFX, can work with virtual desktops that use VDI.
One of the main advantages is that WinTPC is a Software Assurance benefit, and does not require a license Windows VDA (like other small customers need to access VDI desktops).
WinTPC increases the safety of equipment, and allows desktop management with advanced tools like System Center Configuration Manager.
A normal user requires Windows Thin PC?
Despite how much I liked it, the truth is that if accounts with Windows Home Premium, Windows Professional or higher and want to eat less or be very similar to Windows Thin PC, you can disable every service that Thin PC are not present.
Thin PC is not designed for gamers or for use with software 2D or 3D Edition, its orientation is to the office and that's a big disadvantage for the casual user, but does not consume much, that does not mean it will spend it same or less than Windows XP, it does mean that will bring the museum to computers that only ran Windows 98, is an OS which is made to save money without being cumbersome for entrepreneurs who may decide to use it, not for Linux, but for systems cloud-based operating as Chrome OS.

Windows 7 Thin Pc
I have a Windows 7 PC that I want to use a strict thin client.
It should boot and:
- A RDP dialog pops up stating which PC I want to remotely connect to
- A mail program (Outlook most likely) should open
That is it. No other services (unless strictly needed like TCP/IP and DHCP client) should open, no other programs, etc.
Also, I want to keep the Windows 7 installation it current has. I dont want to format it and change it to a Linux distro or get a Windows 7 ISO and strip it out.

When I had to do something similar, I used Group policy and the Custom UI setting.
Write a small 2 button Windows Frorms Application - one to shell Outlook, one to shell mstsc.exe (RDP).
Windows 7 Thin Pc X64 Windows 10
Distribute this to your machines in the same location (C:MyApplauncher.exe) and then setup either kiosk mode or a windows Custom UI to launch this application only on login.
The Custom UI registry key can be found at (on 2012R2 DCs anyway...) User SettingsPoliciesAdmin TemplatesSystemCustom User Interface

Personally I would just uninstall anything you don't want then go into msconfig (you can just type it into the windows search bar and press enter/return) in here you can choose which programs and processes run at startup etc.
Windows 7 Thin Pc X64 Windows 8
This will enable you to make just Outlook and RDP launch at startup.
for uninstalling multiple programs at once use something like http://www.pcdecrapifier.com/
I would post screenshots but I'm currently on a W10 build sorry.
